The Royal School of Church Music Lincoln Area
The King of Instruments
Saturday, 20th September 2008 The Burtey Fen Collection, Pinchbeck 10am – 12 noon
An open invitation is extended to you all, young or not so young, to spend a morning at The Burtey Fen Collection, Pinchbeck on Saturday 20th September 2008 and experience the excitement of hearing, and perhaps even playing a four-manual concert pipe organ, together with Wurlitzer and Compton cinema pipe organs.
You will be able to explore the inside workings of these fine instruments, and Nicholas Pitts will explain some of the technical details about the installations. Both he and Eric Wayman will give demonstrations and offer you the opportunity to play yourself. They will also offer assistance for those who find this prospect a little daunting! Bring your favourite piece of keyboard music, or Grade 1 piano piece and have a go - or simply come along to listen.
You will be made most welcome at this informal event which begins at 10.00am and aims to finish at 12 noon. There will be a charge of £2 per person. All children should be accompanied by an adult.
The venue has its own private car park.
